Our environments
can affect us positively or negatively. Why do people buy second homes
by the water or in the mountains? These places tend to make us feel more
serene and peaceful.
The place of
residence also influences our safety. A neighborhood where one may be
shot at random can be fatal. The distance from one’s residence to daily
work or chores determines the amount of driving or walking, with
different degrees of risks.
On the other hand,
having to walk comfortably to different places of interest may add
welcome physical activity and interesting visual and other sensual
stimulation to one’s life.
Living alone in a
foreign place can be liberating for some people. But many people feel
more comfortable living close to friends and family. Living close to
where good happenings abound also adds much more spice to life.
In short, where
you live can affect your health and happiness. However, what is good for
one person may not be adequate for another. Choose wisely.
