Find Coins in Life

Blessed are those who can find the coins strewn in life.

No matter how drab or how bad a day may seem, we can find in it beautiful little things if we pay attention.

When was the last time you looked up at the dome of the changing sky, which is as vast and fascinating as the oceans that many of us take a lot of trouble to visit?

When was the last time you luxuriated in the warmth of the winter sun?

Have you ever noticed the beautiful grains in your wooden furniture, some of them flowing like river currents?

Have you ever found a piece of fruit, such as a peach, fascinating? Did the fuzz of its velvety skin tickle your lips? Did you savor biting into its juiciness? Did its golden flesh remind you of sunshine and the glories of summer?

Have you felt a moment of gladness in your heart when a stranger gave you a smile as you passed each other? Have you felt an instant of gratitude when another driver on the opposite side of the road let you take your left turn?

Like pennies strewn about us, we can pass all these little gems without noticing them. Or, instead, we can stop, gather them, and enjoy the riches. Those of us who catch these glimpses of beauty and moments of delight are indeed blessed.

- Live with open eyes and an open mind.

- Keep an open heart.

- Slow down, at least sometimes, to gather the coins.
