Our brains are
designed to react more strongly to things that change. That is why
people and places eventually become stale and plain, no matter how
beautiful and exciting we initially find them. The same principle
applies to our life circumstances and positions.
Trying new things
adds spice to your life. This does not mean that you have to spend
thousands of dollars on an exotic trip. And it certainly does not mean
that you have to change your spouse, abandon your best friend, or quit
your current work.
All you need to do
to color your days can involve new smaller things. Stroll around a
neighborhood where you have never set foot before. Make a new dish for
lunch or dinner. Read a book. Make a new friend.
You may not even
have to change anything in trying new things, other than having
different eyes, ears, perspectives, or attitudes.
The endless
possibilities are limited only by your personal taste, means, and
creativity.
